Israeli settlements are illegal under international law. They have been built on land stolen from Palestinian families. The goods that these settlements produce should not be sold in the UK. Produce in supermarkets labelled as ‘Produce of the West Bank’ originate in illegal settlements, and should be boycotted. This misleading labelling leads many consumers to think they are from Palestine, but they are not. Waitrose and Morrisons in particular have so far refused to discuss the question of goods from illegal Israeli settlements. The ‘One Call for Palestine’ campaign will help them to reconsider their position. Call and say that you would like to make a complaint about some products on their shelves because: a) They are the produce from Settlements in the West Bank which are illegal under international law b) By stocking these products, the supermarkets are supporting human rights abuses being committed daily against Palestinians c) The labelling of these products is misleading and does not comply with the appropriate regulations Please contact: Waitrose 0800 188 884 Morrisons 0845 611 6111 (Option 1) Tesco 0800 50 55 55 (Option 6) J Sainsbury PLC 0800 636 262 (Option 5) ASDA 0844 48 15 000 (Option 2 then Option 4) This is part of the week of action against supermarkets stocking Israeli produce, being organised nationally by Friends of Al-Aqsa and a number of solidarity organisations. The campaign calls on all consumers to stop buying Israeli goods until the Israeli regime affords the Palestinians with the human rights that they are guaranteed under international law, and lifts the siege on Gaza which has resulted in immeasurable suffering.
