Mishaal: The US administration coerced the PA into direct talks
Mishaal explained that the decision taken by the executive committee of the Palestine liberation organization (PLO) lacked a quorum and was like an echo of orders issued by Washington, noting that the majority of moderate Palestinians, the elite and 11 Palestinian factions opposed the direct talks with Israel.

Barghouthi warns against direct talks without a settlement halt
RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi says the decision to move to face-to-face negotiations without a settlement halt and without pinpointing a prerequisite framework “will lead to greater and more serious failure” than the 2000 negotiations at Camp David between Yasser Arafat and Ehud Barak hosted by US president Bill Clinton.

Lawyers probe bid to axe Palestine firm's city offer
LEGAL experts have been asked to investigate whether a firm that works in occupied Palestine can be thrown out off the shortlist to takeover the running of council services.
A subsidiary of Seafield plant operator Veolia Environment is in the running for an environmental services contract that the council is considering outsourcing.
