Al-Mujaydal was one of the over 500 Palestinian villages destroyed between 1947 and 1949, and its residents among the 750,000 to 900,000 refugees expelled from their homes in what Palestinians remember as the Nakba or "Catastrophe."

One killed as army invades village near Bethlehem
A Palestinian civilian was killed and his father was kidnapped by the Israeli army on Thursday at midday during an invasion of the village of Taqua, southeast of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank. The father was later released.

Haniyeh claims stronger Hamas links with UK government
