"There are 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza Strip suffering as a result of the repressive siege that inflicted many adverse repercussions on them; yet, no body moves to end the tragedy… we call on the international community, in general, and the Arabs and Muslims, in particular, to immediately work for the end of the blockade", the Khateebs stressed during their Eid Al-Fitr Khutba (sermon).
They added that there were thousands of sick Palestinian citizens waiting for medicine and proper medical treatment; but, they added, the Israeli occupation government blocked entry of medicine and basic foodstuff into Gaza Strip, in addition to denying the sick people permits to travel and get medical treatment abroad.
In this regard, the preachers urged the Egyptian leadership to open the Rafah crossing point, the only possible exit for the Gazans to the world, saying, "We don’t know till now why the Egyptians close the Rafah crossing point? We don’t know what are their justifications for this crime? We call on the Egyptian leadership to alleviate the suffering of the Gaza Strip, and to allow sick Palestinian citizens and students to pass through the border terminal.
Moreover, the Khateebs invited the Palestinian people to reject division, and to restore Palestinian national unity, and to enhance the meanings of social solidarity and to vouch for each other, and to be benevolent towards orphans and poor people.
Talking on the politicized strikes (that were called by the PA leadership in Ramallah city), the Khateebs called on striking employees in the education and health sectors to fear Allah, and to rethink the strikes that, they confirmed, added more pains and sorrows to the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing the necessity to have a successful inter-Palestinian dialogue in Cairo.
