Hebrew sources revealed that the Israeli occupation government was planning to build 130 settlement units in the Har Homa settlement near Bethlehem, and another 317 units in the settlement of Betar Eileet near the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The Israeli disclosure of such beddings come only one day after PA chief Mahmoud Abbas met Israeli premier Ehud Olmert in the occupied city of Jerusalem, which, according to political observers, constitutes a big blow to Abbas.

Palestinian observers noted that the Israeli occupation government announces the construction of more settlement units after every meeting between Abbas and Olmert which makes Abbas look like giving political covers for those Israeli occupation atrocities.

Meanwhile, Palestinian MP Dr. Ahamd Abu Halabeyya, the chairman of the Quds (Jerusalem) committee in the PLC, asserted that the Israeli occupation government was expediting its efforts in Judaizing the holy city, especially after it demolished a number of Palestinian homes in the occupied city.

In a press conference he held on the Israeli practices in the occupied city, Abu Halabeyya accused the Israeli occupation of establishing thousands of settlement units in the West Bank, especially in Jerusalem, with the aim to divide geographical continuity between the West Bank cities.

In this regard, Abu Halabeyya appealed for swift Arab and Muslim action to bridle the Israeli aggression on the holy city, urging them to support the Palestinian steadfastness against the occupation with all available means.
