In a press statement received by the PIC, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said that such wrong policies were the main reason for escalating the suffering of the Palestinian people and imposing a policy of mass punishment on them.

Barhoum stressed that the Palestinian resistance defends and protects the Palestinian people's interests, which were destroyed by the successive unwise and unjust policies of the White House.

The spokesman underlined that Obama should make positive positions supporting the just Palestine cause, stopping Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people and recognizing their right to self-defense against any aggression according to the international conventions which guarantee this right.

For its part, the Islamic Jihad Movement castigated the statements made by Obama during the appointment of his foreign envoys to the region, noting, however, that these statements were not a surprise.

In a statement received by the PIC, Islamic Jihad underscored that the successive US administrations were and still are "fully controlled by the Zionist lobby which influences the US decision-making circles".

Islamic Jihad called on those who bet on the US role to get back their sanity before they waste more years of running behind the "peace mirage" that is used to cover up for the Israeli crimes against lands and humans in occupied Palestine.
