The U19 Palestinian National Football Team to visit the UK - Visas Denied

From Tuesday 21st August, the Palestinian national under-19 football team will come to train and play football in the UK for three weeks.

The Palestinian Football Federation faces many problems in organising simple training sessions for the football team due to the numerous travel restrictions placed by Israel upon people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

 
 
 
 In addition, there are no proper training facilities in the occupied territories and Palestinians face immense difficulties in obtaining visas to train and play elsewhere.
 
Palestinian athletes who have been directly affected by the conflict include Tariq al Quto who was killed by the Israeli Army, travelling and had his house destroyed.and striker Ziad al Khourd who was banned from
 
Friends of Al Aqsa will be hosting the team during their stay in London on 9-10th September. Activities organised include a tour of London and a public event where the team will have the opportunity to share their stories of life in Palestine. A trip to the FA Headquarters is also being arranged.
